The Planting Beds

31 Jul

This is my second year of working with the square-foot gardening approach. Last year’s garden was great. I had tons of wonderful produce, squash and green beans were big winners, but this year, it’s been kinda sad. I started my seedlings late. I planted some things too early, others too late. All in all, I don’t think I’m going to get very much out of this, foodwise. I guess I’m going to have to be satisfied with a learning experience.

The peas started out well, though.

This has been a crappy garden year so far. I have some thoughts about why, which I’ll explore in future posts. I can say for sure that the corn crisis I’m experiencing is due to prowling beasties.
